Will an electronic tach that runs off the ignition rotor continue to read RPM even if spark isn’t at the plugs
I have an itermitent mis/die at cruising speed, the tach still reads RPM smoothly, this makes me think fuel ,but I’ve been through the whole system, tank, filter jets and all ?
Will the tach still read RPM if there’s no fire in the cylinders ?
The tach wire comes off the ignition module not the coil.
You are right… the elec ign will send a pulse to the tach seperate from the coil. Somewhere between the ignition, coil and plugs is your problem. Loose wire on coil… timing off… couple of guesses…
