Are these foods acceptable to bring into New Zealand?

I am going into New Zealand as a tourist, and I’m bringing gifts for people that I’m staying with. However, I don’t know what’s acceptable to bring in and what isn’t. The embassies are all closed for the holiday break, so hopefully you guys can help me. The list of things I want to bring is:

Dried herbal tea bags
Ferrero Rocher chocolates
Chocolate toffee
Turkey jerky (similar to beef jerky)
Almond candy
Dried fruit trail mix
Fish oil capsules

Thanks!

I just arrived in New Zealand with a bunch of sealed/packaged foods, and declared them all. I opened my bag (which had all the food in there) and they said they didn’t need to look at it. But then they said, “Do you have any jerky?” I didn’t, and they let me through without an inspection.

In general, I think you can bring ALL of these foods into New Zealand. Just make sure you declare that you have meat (jerky, fish oil) and plant (dried fruits, tea) — these are in addition to the question about whether you have food. If you don’t declare it, and they discover it, you will get an instant fine (I think it $400 NZ) and you could theoretically be denied entry (unlikely though). If you declare it all, the worst that will happen is they will confiscate it.

I would put it all in one bag to make it easy for them to see. If they decide to search your bags, this won’t make it difference, but I think it makes you look more credible.
