Using bag gloves for sparring?
I just recently got a set of Twins Special Bag Gloves which I was told Id be sparring with. But doing after some reading I found out that using bag gloves for sparring wouldn’t be very advisable for the safety of my sparring partner as there is very little padding on the gloves. I can’t afford another pair of separate boxing gloves to spar with, so do you think using bag gloves for sparring is okay?
How about If I were to do light controlled sparring? I’ve heard that Muay Thai practitioners in Thailand keep their sparring very controlled. Although Twins is a Muay Thai glove brand, I don’t practice Muay Thai. I was simply looking for light, moderately sized gloves that wouldn’t completely restrict my punches or give me an unrealistically enlarged guard.
no that would be a dumb idea. there is a reason those gloves are called bag gloves and not sparing gloves. if you want to learn how to box you go to a boxing gym and get a trainer. 3 important rules for any gym. 1-safety for yourself. 2-safety for those around you. and 3-safety for the equipment. using bag gloves violates all three of those rules
